Filmmaker Caveh Zahedi has made a career out of a fearless willingness to bare his innermost demons on camera and here he tackles the ultimate taboo – sex. On the even of his third marriage he is consumed with a great compulsion to spill the beans on his blackened morals and tell the world how he’s a sex addict and how it has ruined his life so far. Cutting away between scenes in which Zahedi is the actor, the narrator and Zahedi a mix of the two. He explores his helpless addiction to prostitutes, re-enacts how it has cost him every relationship in his life so far, discusses how helpless he is and how it has left him a wreck of a man. Lighter moments include his frank discussions of his chronic premature ejaculation and vivid depictions of his squeaking, twisted face during orgasm. Featuring a rare dramatic performance by the legendary French porn star Rebecca Lord, I Am a Sex Addict is Zahedi’s unique brand of comedy at its confessional best.
